Penpalling with cub scouts abroad

Post by aging » Wed Sep 08, 2010 6:30 pm

I would like to do something different with the kids this year but I don't know how to go about it so I am hoping for some help. I would like to start a penpal relationship with a cub group outside of North America. Anyone have any ideas??

You can probably hook up with another group anywhere in the world via WOSM. Also try asking around your group, area, and council. There's a good possibility that another leader knows leaders in other parts of the world, through world or national jamborees.
I'm an INTP. What are you?

My group often gets penpal requests because of our web site. Choose a country, search for a group web site, and ask. We really are a world-wide brotherhood.

A few years ago, one of my Scouts, who is of Irish ancestry, visited family in Northern Ireland. I helped him to get linked up with Scouting there and he was very warmly welcomed by two troops (one Protestant, one Catholic; he would count as mixed).

My suggestion would be Scouts Network on Scout Face http://www.scoutface.com/login.php take your choice of location, sex, and age that you wish to contact...first you have to register as a member, just like Face Book, but for Scouts.
