provincial parks are a great place to remind families who like to camp that scouting is a great activity for their kids
- campfires at many BC parks are evening activities in the summer months organized by young park employees who present a skit, activity or program that educates and involves young audience members (typically 6 - 14 yrs) - for example, discussing the animals in the park, showing photos or artsfacts and then playing a related game
the opportunity in provincial parks is to get scouting noticed by presenting it in the best light
- a sign at the entrance that says this park is maintained in park by the local scouts
- one day work parties of scouts cleaning up the park and then doing a related outdoor activity
- one-day community events in parks where the local troop(s) gather for a one day event and invite children of the community and campers in the park to participate in a scouting activity and game
