(most interested in membership numbers for all councils and areas) I have a few hard copies of older ones I have picked up from various Scouters/Gilwell/Ebay but am working on a project and would like all of them Thanks for your...

Re: Return to Made in Canada - Petition

This is all very typical, a very political post by our Chief commissioner talking about "ethical" and "safe" standards, but not actually advocating any real change. in 2010 the worlds clothing and textile industry reached $2,560 TRILLION, that's an astrological number... maintaining a supply of qual...

Volunteering with Multiple groups

Does anyone know if you are allowed to Volunteer with multiple groups? I am the Troop scouter for a Group, and I am very happy with that roll and is my primary roll, I have been looking to get Service team experience, and the only opening is with another group in town, we are a close community, and ...

Re: Outside Testing for Signature Awards

I rather like the idea in a sense, in our area it seems that the difficulty of the award depends on the group you are with.... I am very strict about he CSA requirements, and what needs to be accomplished, while other groups not so much, and its treated in the spirit of "best effort" which really er...

Winter Camping - Co-ed youth

Hey folks, we have a pretty divserse co-ed troop 4 female youth 10 male youth, its a nice ratio, and works out great for camps! I would like to plan a special advanced 1 night lightweight winter camping trip for my 3rd year youth working on their CSA, in the past when I have done this and as a group...

Re: "Program Standards" for patrols

I really like this idea, right now our patrol leaders just go off what we have been teaching them, and what they knew from their time as a scout watching their patrol leaders, I will probably implement something like this for next scouting year, somthing for the patrol leaders to follow, to know wha...

Re: Deep Freeze

This is a great idea! our area holds a "deep freeze" (thats what it was called back when my father was a youth) as long as I have known it though, it has been called "Nipissing area, winter camp" Its held the First weekend in March every year, We allow the youth to take the Friday off school so we c...

Errol, Also, there is no Adult level in the Spirituality award. I've already mentioned this lack to National and, at the moment, they have seen fit not to include Leaders. I think this is a mistake. You have the support of myself and My troop here in the North! what a sad state of affairs, as scouts we are role models, even if that means one scouting Organization being the role model for another!!

Re: Youth Spokesperson Training

Hey Glenn, we have a Venturer aged youth (14) who has stayed back for one last year of scouts so that he can move to Venturers with 4 of his mates who are in the same troop but a year younger, he would be very interested I think in this, can he still apply?

Thanks!

Re: Baston on Membership

I completely agree! In our area we just had another group come close to shutting down, this year is the first time in 99 years that this group has not had a troop section, due to leadership & youth.... When I started as a leader five years ago, this is exactly what I have did, started the program fr...

Awesome! we have been offering the Scoutcraft I & Scoutcraft II in the Nipissing Area (NOC) for quite some time now, we also try and run an adult "camp skills" weekend every year! I would personally like to see more opportunity for adult training (the hands on kind) I love woodbadge, and if done pro...

I have completed my WBI & WBII training I am looking to take my TD1 Training but I cant find any information about where or what councils put these courses on... I was invited to one last fall but was denied approval by my AC because I was already signed up to take my WBII that fall and she felt it ...
