Suggestions for Winter Conservation Projects?

My son is in his 3rd year of Cubs, has earned all the stars, and almost all the Awards. Our group moves the kids up to the next section in spring - around March or April. He still needs to earn: - The Heritage Trails Award (yes, there are some of the badge available in the group) - World Conservatio...

Re: BadgeMagic

I haven't used it - but you aren't supposed to just pull the badges off when you use badge magic. You are supposed to use "goo gone" http://www.badgemagic.com/info_pages/index.cfm?fuseaction=all&parent_id=101 videos http://www.badgemagic.com/info_pages/index.cfm?fuseaction=all&parent_id=30 Don't dry...

Re: Best Use of ScoutTracker - Badge Testing

We aren't testing it "again"... we have 2 situations here... last year and this year. Last year I had a "family" account - the free account. As a parent, I found it easier in that account to just mark everything as complete. It was encouraging to my kids as they could see "Pet Care" - 75% or "Canadi...

Re: Best Use of ScoutTracker - Badge Testing

Hm - maybe I should put in a request for an (optional?) ready-to-test % indicator for the badges etc. As I said, seeing that percent rise up really motivates my kids - but the % done is almost useless when you test whole badges except for the stuff done in meetings... (and then the cub can't even ma...

Re: Best Use of ScoutTracker - Badge Testing

No one else has suggestions? Does no one use Scout Tracker, or does no one have an opinion on testing badge requirements versus testing entire badges? I've done the entire badge testing various ways over the years... that really isn't a big deal for me. But Scout Tracker shows the percent done (ie, ...

Best Use of ScoutTracker - Badge Testing

I was just wondering how most people make the best use out of Scout Tracker and the Badge Testing procedures. (Cubs) The past couple of years, I used the free family-only version of Scout Tracker with my own kids. It has worked great... one thing I did though was just mark things as completed. That ...

Program Review....?

Any updates at all from the Program Review? (I would put it in that forum, but I don't have a new topic button there?) Haven't heard anything at all since April.... most of the info says there will be more info "soon" or "in a couple of weeks", and it has been months. Also - I can't remember the tim...

Scout Tracker problems

Our group has been having problems signing into Scout Tracker (Scout Badges) - Cub section - the last couple of days. I contacted the support - but haven't heard back. Are others having this problem? (I'm wondering if the server is having problems as everyone prepares for the coming year...?)

My son has said a few times he would love to be a Keeo (he was never a beaver) - but as our groups cubs and beavers meet at the same time.....

Re: "New" Chief Scout?

Yes, it wasn't a Bounty Hunter Show....

It was a TV contest of the game "Fox and Hounds", where you have 2 Foxes working together, and 2 Hounds trying to catch them.

I see nothing unscouting about the game "Fox and Hounds".....

Old Badges

Hey everyone - I got recruited as a leader again... so now I'm a leader and a parent. One of the projects I took on was to organize and inventory our cub badge box. A couple of years ago we had apparently been given badges from other groups that closed - so we had badges in a couple of places. So I'...

Re: severe allergies

Although I haven't had to deal with severe allergies (just smaller ones) - I have had to deal with life-threatening conditions (I had one scout with hemophilia, for instance). And it was a Troop rule that in any case like that, a medic alert bracelet (or other jewelry) was required to be worn at mee...

Re: Awards from other Scouting/Guiding Associations

No - it is for Adult Awards. There used to be a line in BP&P stating that Awards received by other Scouting and Guiding organizations could be worn (on the Tan uniform it was above the Left Pocket) - I don't see it in BP&P now though. In my case, it is specifically the Girl Guides "Gold Thanks" pin,...

Awards from other Scouting/Guiding Associations

With the old uniform, there was a location for "Awards presented by other Scouting/Guiding Associations". (At least there was a few years ago...)

Is there a location for them on the new uniform? I have one that I've always worn....
