Re: Help with new tent

The requirement to be able to stand up might force you to a 6 person tent or bigger unless you are vertically challenged.

Re: Return to Made in Canada

I know some Families who absolutely will not buy the new Uniform because of the outsourcing, let alone the Joe Fresh / Bangladesh disaster. I think those families are to some degree either willfully ignorant or hypocritical. Unless they are weaving their own fabrics, or making their own fasteners, ...

Paddle to the Sea is available to view or purchase on the National Film Board site. It might make a good choice for Drive-in Movie Night for Beavers or Cubs.

Re: No Fire - Campfire

We did a fireless camp fire with a pile of flashlights. We had everybody add a flashlight to the fire as part of the opening.

There isn't a quote on the last post because many members of the forum have the habit of quoting the previous message in it's entirety before replying.

Re: Re-require WB I training?

I have always found it a tad ironic that we use didactic method to teach the "scouting method" instead of using the scouting method itself. Shouldn't we be indoctrinating new leaders in learning by doing and mentoring rather than reinforcing the sit and listen techniques of traditional schooling?

Re: Investing Adult Leaders

Our usual practice is to invest the leaders as an early part of the investiture ceremony, or in the meeting if they join later in the year. People have to register before posting. There's no requirement to register before reading. It is poss...
