Help me volunteer in South Africa

Image

Dear Scouters,

This August, I will be travelling to South Africa as a member of Scouts Canada's international development project taking place in Mafikeng, Northwest Province. Here, I will be working on a team of Canadian and South African Scouts and volunteers to build rainwater reservoirs and community food gardens. All of this will help achieve the first of the Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations: to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger.

In order to tackle this issue, and be part of this dynamic team of young Canadians, I need your help. Please get involved in this project by donating funds in either my name, or directing your donation to any of the particular expenses of the project.

Thank you so much for your support! Your donation will go towards bringing a sustainable supply of food and fresh water to South Africa, helping to eradicate global poverty.

Sincerely,
Brandon Scott

How was your trip?

Have you taken a look at the Rover Rambler Award?

I have although none of my leaders seem to be versed in it which has made for a slow process.

Should not be any problem Brandon, see the Handbook page 1-10. It isn't up to the Leaders, it's up to the Executive. You should be able to get authoritative information from Al Griffith at Scouts Canda where he works in the museum: 613-224-5131. He had been a Rover leader inOttawa for 2100 years of more  Seriously if anybody knows all the ins and outs, then it is surely Al. IF I can help further (former ADC-Rovers) Let me know.
