Re: Selling memberships at Costco?

For the groups who charge an "All In" rate (one fee which includes camping, activities, etc), what is the participation rate on camping trips? Do you budget that you will have x% on every trip? Are dates advertised at the start of the year?

I am trying to learn whether an "all in" rate increases participation and what risk position the group takes if they make assumptions like budgeting for only x% attending. Are your Beavers and Cubs also charged an "all in" rate?

Thanks,
Tom

Not for Venturers interested in an Amory Award. I remember doing week-long canoe trips as a scout in the early 1980s, and that was with a lot of gear. As a Venturer, I'd expect that you'd bring less gear and aim for more light weight/no trace camping/canoeing? But 8 days seems right to me, for an annual "big trip" that the youth plan.

Excellent question. We do the basic registration, and then everything else is extra. If kids don't do fundraising, then they pay full pop for camps, etc. If they do fundraising, they get a break on camp fees depending on how much we raise. Aside from that, everything is on top of the registration.
