Who is coming to Camp Woods for CJ13?

1st Wainwright senior Cubs and Scouts have started their fundraising campaign.

1st Anzac has already started the hype!!! See you there!

I am pushing for it. I hope to be there on OOS with a few of my sons. All 3 of them and myself were OOS at PJ11.

I am pushing too. We'll be a small contingent, but how can you miss out on a CJ???

Is there a date yet?

Yes there is a date. July 6-13, 2013. We plan on being there. In fact we are hoping to create an Area Contingent and get all of the kids that want to go there. Fundraising has started for some and we will hopefully be able to do some big Area Wide fundraisers. Several of our Venturers are hoping to Attend as OOS. Hopefully we will get pricing soon!

Our troop had a wonderful time at CJ07 so I hope to make CJ13 with our scouts as well. We will come from the east coast of the US (Connecticut) so will be looking to make a big adventure for our scouts. Our sub camp was Boulevard Lake, hosted by Man, Al and Northern Sas if I remember correctly so I hope we can renew some acquaintances as well. I've got a NF sea scout shirt I don't get to wear often.

Hope you don't mind me posting some ideas/info/goals:

Train from Chicago, IL to West Glacier, Montana is $220 RT pp with two scouts per adult and AAA discount. Wouldn't it be cool for an intl contingent of US and Canadian scouts and whomever wants to join us to hike into Canada from Glacier NP to Waterton NP and then on to CJ. I would love to find some like minded CAnadian and Mexican scouters, come up with a plan we all like, then open it up to any who wish to join us.

Would love to travel one way by train in the US and the other by Canadian Rail but it seems CR is much more expensive. I remember eastern province scouts traveled as one big group to CJ07 which seemed a great adventure for the scouts.

Will there be an opportunity to visit Banff and Jasper just before or after CJ13? I should say, do you think something will be planned by Scouts Canada or Alberta scouts?

Our troop will be at the MIchigan International Camporee next July (micamporee.org). If we have a plan by then, I would publicize our travel plan.

FYI - Those interested in US Jamboree 2013; Amtrak train from NYC or CHicago gets you very close to the JAmboree site in West Virginia.

PS. Looking for Scurtle from Edmonton, Gary Clark (I think) who helped us at Boulevard Lake and Evette who'd better be wearing the the CJ07 Tshirt I gave her.

madivili: Sounds like you have a great plan. How do you plan to get from Waterton NP to the CJ site at Sylvan Lake (which is central Alberta, and would be a long, long hike!)? Chartered bus, or some such? My daughter will be a first year scout in 2013 (she is currently a cub scout), and our current troop is really, really small, but our Area might put together a multi-troop contingent.

For the US Jamboree in West Virginia, is that where the World Jamboree will be in 2019?

1st Westminster Scout Troop from Humboldt, SK is planning on attending. Have already started the fundraising! At least transportation won't be a huge expense for this trip. We have attending the last two PJ's in B.C.!! Looking forward to it!
