Scouttree revenue split
Not sure if this is the correct place to post this or not, but I'm hoping others can enlighten me with this.
In the Scouttree council kit as well as the Scouts Canada Website ( which is also linked to from the council website), it indicates that 30% of the funds collected go to council. 50% of these go to brotherhood fund.
We have been told by our council to remit 50% and that this has been the practice for 25+ years. As well, they have said that other councils use this split as well.
If so:
Why do the materials indicate a 30% collection by council?
Why does the council website link to a page indicating 30% collection?
Is this decision something that can be done unilaterally by the council or does it need National Office approval?
Thanks
