Winnipeg All Sections Rally
Here in Winnipeg a growing event has been developed over the last few years to become what has been dubbed “The Largest Indoor Scout Event in Canada!”
The City Wide Winnipeg All Sections Rally had its humble beginnings as a small Area Kub Kar Rally and has grown this year to have Beaver, Cub and Scout participation from over 235 youth representing over 25 Groups from across Winnipeg and nearby towns. The event also saw large contingent of members of the local ‘Les Scouts’.
Beaver Buggy, Kub Kar and Scout Semi Races are just the tip of the iceberg for the daylong event. Participants also see inflatable bouncers, a Beavernapolis Beaver sized race track, a crafty Beaver Pond, a custom Drivers Licence with photo for each participant, a custom event crest, and a huge silent auction for the parents.
Volunteers running the event spent countless hours collecting silent auction prizes, organizing plaques for top racers on 7 tracks, and coordinating registration and licence photos. Venturers and Rovers in and around Winnipeg were instrumental in helping run the event as well.
This year the event was held in a hockey arena. Assuming increased participation next year, a larger venue will be needed. Below is the crest made for this year’s event for all participants:
