Howdy all,

It was announced today that my council (Northern Lights) will be hosting the next Canadian Jamboree in 2013. Steve is visiting here today for our honour's and awards ceremony/banquet. The site is pretty reasonable and I've been to it a number of times. I see that Steve has also sent out an e-mail already so you may get that soon. I look forward to meeting a bunch of you in three years!

Sorry we missed you on Saturday Garth, we had our big BBQ and couldn't make it. 4 of our leaders received awards!

Well Jeanette...you don't have far to travel, that's for sure. And your former AC John W. will be heading up the planning so I know he'll do a fantastic job.

Camp Woods is a fantastic place and we have so many great resource people like John W - and our council staff too (especially Carmen :D ). I imagine Wayne will be really getting things ship-shape out there, the improvements they have been doing the last year or so are great - like fixing up the cabins etc. I know I will lend a hand where needed for this one when they ask for local help - maybe I better not put that in writing LOL.

My own 2 scouts are excited about it too. A great way to experience a jamboree without the challenges of air transport.

Yup...it will be a great place and the infrastructure improvements that will take place will only make it an even better site. I'm sure there will be lots of opportunities to help with preparation and/or implementation. My term as AC for Beaver Hills will end in a year so I'm hoping to move into a planning role for this event.

Re: CJ '13

It's much to early for anything to be out yet. I'm sure I can go out on a limb though and state that there will be an OOS program. I was at Camp Woods two weekends ago and was thinking how good it will be to have a CJ there.
